Carson at the Omaha Zoo ~ good way to break up the drive....amazing zoo!

We also stopped at Sioux Falls, SD and went to see the town's waterfalls

The Miller's at the Badlands National Park

We drove through Iron Mountain Road with plenty of tunnels, switchbacks, and single lane traffic

and some buffalo that kept blocking the road, which Carson referred to as "puppies"

Crazyhorse monument had a laser light show at night that the kids really enjoyed

We went to Mt. Rushmore in the evening to see the mountain lit up

Jewel Cave...300 ft below ground and 75 plus miles long, but our tour was only an hour and a half and 750 steps. Try that carrying a 31 lb baby boy who only wants his mama....not easy :/

We rode the 1880's train from Hill City to Keystone...much to Hayden's delight. We rode it with another family from Paola who was also staying in Hill City for the week!

Bear Country is a 3 mile drive where you get to see all the South Dakota wildlife right up to your car...these aren't zoom lens :)  The animals would walk right up to your car and sometimes block the road!

This is our cabin...the kids spent their time here sliding down the big rock and hunting for gold in the rocks behind the cabin ;)
